It is useful, practical and friendly. Jayanta reminds us of the importance of paying attention to our alignment, to our breath and at the same time to notice how we feel with each posture. Stretch Breathe Relax was inspired by the numerous requests of Jayanta's students. The video is ideal for beginners as well as those interested in cross training, injury recovery or yoga therapy. It is moderately challenging without being intimidating, allowing each student to work at their own level. The postures are sequenced and well balanced, providing a smooth, gentle flow of yoga movements which awaken the whole body and relax the mind.

The clear, concise instruction for getting into and coming out of each pose is well appreciated. Jayanta gives helpful suggestions for proper alignment and the use of props. As well, she makes recommendations on how to use your breath, and how long to remain in each pose. She also makes reference to some pre-cautions and reminds us of the benefits of each pose.

MEDITATION CIRCLE

Jayanta presents two guided meditations: Loving Kindness Meditation and Healing Meditation. Her audio tape, Meditation Circle, begins with a general description of sitting postures and some important elements of meditation.

Side one consists of Loving Kindness Meditation: a meditation which cultivates loving friendliness to oneself and others. The practice of loving kindness helps to discover the radiant, joyful heart with-in and also creates a relaxed, calm, peaceful and meditative feeling.

Side two, Healing Meditation, gently guides the practitioner step-by-step through the body. With clear and concise instructions you will become aware of your body's respond to stress and how you can release tension. As a result the heart and mind become still, and in that calm centered space you can experience joy and peacefulness.

RELAXATION CIRCLE
40 minute audio tape

The Relaxation Circle gently guides you to release tension and stress in your body/mind.

This stress-relief audio program is enhanced by Jayanta's soothing voice which reminds you to exchange thinking for sensing. The focus is to be awake and alert, while completely relaxing your body and calming your mind. This wonderful exercise goes by many names: Relaxation Pose, Sponge, Savasana, and Corpse Pose.

The first side of the tape is a guided relaxation that uses the popular technique of progressively tensing and releasing the major muscle groups of the body. The breath is also used to aid in the process of relaxing and letting go.

Side two (20 min) is for the more experienced student, who can mentally get in touch with the various areas of the body without any physical movement. The idea here is to bring unconscious tension into the foreground of awareness, which gives you the opportunity to let it go.

With her calming voice and gentle approach Jayanta clearly guides you to deeper levels of relaxation and mental awareness. Soothing background music accompanies both sides of the tape.

The Relaxation Circle is suitable for everyone and highly recommended.
